Student Protests INTRO: Student protests in South Africa are taking on a volatile and highly violent tone. This follows clashes between black and white students at the universities of Pretoria and Free State this week. The latest violent student protests come in the wake of violent student demands for fees to be abolished late last year and at the start of the new term this year at a number of universities around the country.
